Health plan features free screenings to detect and protect

Did you know that certain women’s health services, like cancer and infection screenings, and checkups to discuss things like birth control, are free for ARHOME members?

Women’s health screenings and checkups include:

Mammogram:

A mammogram checks for breast cancer. Women aged 50-74 should get one every year or two.

Cervical cancer screening:

Also known as a Pap smear, these tests should be done every three to five years between ages 21-65.

Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing:

This should be done at least once a year for sexually active women 24 years or younger to test for STIs like chlamydia and gonorrhea.

Prenatal care and birth control:

Regular checkups lead to healthy babies and moms. If you want to avoid pregnancy, birth control is an option, and it is especially important within three months after having a baby.

Test at home

ARHOME members can get private, at-home test kits for cervical cancer and STIs. Call 501-500-2184 to order a free cervical cancer or STI test kit to be sent to your home from LetsGetChecked.
