The importance of care for mental health and substance use disorders
- April 14, 2025

Why regular provider visits and follow-up care matter
We encourage all of our members to take good care of their physical and mental health. For our ARHOME (Arkansas Health & Opportunity for Me) members, we offer a program called Blue Wellness Rewards that provides incentives for healthy lifestyles. When you have a mental health diagnosis or substance use condition, it is important for you to keep all scheduled appointments and follow-up visits with your provider. You should also see your behavioral health provider within 30 days if you have been in the hospital or emergency room. They need this information to help you get better and stay healthy.
Incentives:
- You can earn $50 in Blue Wellness Rewards by getting mental health or substance use disorder treatment and seeing your provider again within the same year.
- You can also earn $100 in Blue Wellness Rewards by having a follow-up visit within 30 days after an emergency room visit for substance use disorder.
Taking medicine regularly
If a provider or pharmacist gives you medicine for your mental health, it is important to take it as directed. The ARHOME team offers rewards for using tools to help you remember to take your medicine.
